* ART IS FREEDOM
* ART IS FREEDOM
Art is freedom. Inspiration is a seedling of hope.
Energetic and wildly varied, Emma’s art is unrestricted by medium. She has invested years exploring and learning, expanding her mastery of tools in the pursuit of creative freedom. Effervescent with endless ideas and a rich and vivid imagination, she’s produced an expansive body of work encompassing drawing, painting (in oils, watercolour, gouache, acrylic and ink) printing, textiles, poetry, storytelling, illustration, photography, lettering and beyond.
Emma creates to overcome difficult experiences and social isolation. Finding solace in nature, a large portion of her work is a determined celebration of light and beauty.
In her personal work she explores darker themes and more complex emotions. The distorted sense of self after experiencing trauma, and the internal battle to find balance between her experiences of womanhood and the world are at the heart of her journey.
She investigates the division of body and spirit in the aftermath of extreme distress, and experiments with abstraction, using art as a process for self discovery and healing on the return to happiness.

My Creative Process
Each individual element is a piece of art in its own right, and often I’ll expand on my ideas, experimenting with different mediums and processes to further the project. I prefer to start with a pool of words and ideas in my notes app, or roughed out on paper, then I’ll seek inspiration, create a mood board, or take photos, scribbling and sketching, before planning the final piece. Sometimes I know which medium I want to use, other times I create it in several mediums on the way, to really study my subject and observe the colours in depth.
I often redraw paintings in vector format. Then craft them into seamless patterns for textiles and wallpaper. It takes time to capture all that detail, often much longer than the original painting, but the results yield a finely detailed, beautiful illustration that can be used in so many new ways. Most people simply would not have the patience, but I guess that’s a benefit of me being Neuro Resplendant! I get lost in the work and feel it’s worth it to have the freedom of choice, for easy colour and scale change, with no loss of quality. We can make it as big as the moon if you wish and those edges would still be as crisp, and colour just as true!

Collaboration
I love collaborating with other brands who share my creative interests. With over 15 years of experience in graphic and web design I love bringing great projects to life. You'd be joining the ranks of Waitrose, Roast, Croydon Council, Stoneman, and of course, Art for Life.
I'm so very happy, I have to say I can't wait to show these to everyone! I love, Love, LOVE everything you've done, I can't stop looking!

Emma is a very talented designer with incredible vision. She is also blessed with the ability to be very kind & accommodating. One of her pieces of work for us saw her facing the challenge of working with a group of my young people to design a logo for their project. Both the process and the end result were an absolute joy and success, Thank you!

I needed to brand a Heritage Lottery community project and I was able to rely on Emma to help facilitate this. She created a project brand, succinctly expressing the schemes identity, and was also able to create social media pages to get the project up and running. Though it is only a small community project, the Twitter feed she branded and created has over 300 followers, including councillors and members of parliament. Emma was integral in the Wandle Park Community Project achieving this profile. Emma’s work is first rate.
