Eternal Classics

Happy memories influence this classic English country style. I stroll down memory lane and find joy in treasures of the past. Rejuvenated from my recollection of childhood holidays at my grandmothers cottage on Dartmoor, and my great Auntie Muriel’s classic decor. Years never spoil the beauty of things made with love.

My Creative Process

Each individual element in a pattern is a lovingly detailed piece of art in its own right. Often ideas start with a mood board, photographs, painting and sketches, then I draw each separate item individually in vector format using Adobe Fresco or Illustrator. This is a time consuming process, but ensures the resulting art is infinitely scalable without any loss of quality regardless of the canvas size.

The colour and details are refined in Illustrator on my trusty iMac then imported into Photoshop. This is where individual elements are crafted into a seamless repeating pattern ready for textiles, wallpaper, stationary - almost anything you can imagine! I choose complimentary background and/or foreground colour selection from my 300 strong library, from which samples have been printed for colour accuracy. Often I will create a complimentary pattern, or several so that they can be mixed and matched for a lovely interesting contrast on sewn goods. It takes lots of time and dedication to create things in such detail and high quality, but the results are so beautiful and timeless. I hope you agree that it’s worthwhile!

If you have any questions or requests, do let me know, ease of colour and scale change is one of the luxuries of working this way, so it’s often a straight forward thing to customise! Emma x
