Tourmaline
Tourmaline is the symbolic birthstone for October, along with the opal. The stone was first discovered by Dutch traders off the West Coast of Italy. The name tourmaline comes from the Sinhalese term ‘toramalli’ which means stone with mixed colours, because tourmalines often have multiple hues in one stone. A gemstone symbolic of reconciliation, it is believed to foster compassion and cool headedness, and not only radiate energy but also attract wealth, healing and friendship. Used for grounding purposes some believe it can stabilize, and reaffirm our Earth roots. Read on to discover more and get your free download - a gorgeous Tourmaline Facebook cover photo! Emma x
I'm often asked how I get so much detail in these, and the answer is - every tiny facet is hand drawn and each colour chosen individually, to represent the cascade of light and colour present in a glittering polished gem stone. It’s a very time consuming process but I think the results are so worth it!
